TARA Lesson —6.13.20
Good to see you Tara for another lesson.
Your swing motion is much improved. You are staying centered over the ball, which is a big, big improvement. Your lower body motion is also much better because your hips are pivoting more now with less sideways movement.
Next, we need to continue to work on your arms. They have too much bend in them.
There are two things we can do to improve them.
One is for you to feel like your elbows are connected by a huge rubber band that pulls them together at the elbows. This will give you a more connected feeling during your swing.
I demonstrated a technique you can practice at home to keep your head centered over the ball, which involves leaning your head against a wall and pivoting as in your full swing motion. Alternatively, you can ask you daughter to hold your head the way I did for you on the range.
The other thing we can do is to stop your backswing before your elbow starts to bend. I know this is harder to execute than my just saying because the likelihood is that you can’t feel your elbow bending because there are so many other things to think about during the backswing.
I’ve added some stop-motions [freeze frames] to your videos so that you can see how your elbows face away from each other instead of staying together and for your elbow bends.
