Hi Laurel,

This is a special message about your golf swing that I want to convey before we meet Friday.

I have an extra step that will help initiate your downswing with your lower body.

This extra step is simply to allow your lead knee to get more involved in the swing.

During the Takeaway…when you move your club back with your shoulder pivot…allow your lead knee [left] to tilt toward your rear knee [right].

This is a simple solution to several issues that I’ll discuss with you Friday.

Recapping then, during the takeaway allow your lead knee to tilt toward your rear knee and this will allow your hips to pivot enough to complete your shoulder pivot to the top of your swing.

This will become the new order to initiate your backswing.

  1. Shoulder pivot
  2. Knee tilt [left knee toward right knee]
  3. Hip pivot

And this will become the new order to initiate your downswing.

  1. Knee shift [left knee shifts forward]
  2. Hip shift and turn
  3. Shoulder pivot

Voilé!

The bonus is that this will eliminate the need to raise up to complete your backswing, which will help eliminate hitting fat and topping the ball.

Try it with or without a club today and we’ll practice it Friday.

See you then!
